NusaPure Saffron Review
GD Star Rating

NusaPure Saffron is a dietary supplement that is made in the USA by NusaPure. This stimulant-free formula claims to deliver natural weight management support, healthy fat metabolism support and healthy appetite control support.

The Only Ingredient in NusaPure Saffron

NusaPure Saffron contains only one ingredient: Saffron Standardized Extract. There is 88.5 mg of this ingredient in 1 veggie capsule (1 serving size).

The directions are for adults to take 1 capsule daily, preferably with meals.

On the plus side, this OTC diet pill is 100% stimulant-free, which is good for individuals who are looking for diet support and who are either sensitive to stimulants or who simply want to avoid stimulants.

Another plus is that this supplement contains only one active ingredient. As such, unless you have an allergy to saffron or any of the other inactive ingredients that compose this capsule, the recommended one serving daily dose should be well tolerated by most healthy adults.

Saffron Weight Loss Research

All that said, the real question is: can NusaPure Saffron be beneficial to those who want to lose weight? The short answer is not likely. The reason is that while this herb is considered to be a powerful antioxidant, there is no solid clinical evidence that proves it is a safe or effective treatment for weight loss.

Saffron is known as one of the world’s most expensive spices, due to the amount of labor involved in harvesting and the high number of saffron blossoms it takes to produce a single pound of saffron spice. Because of the cost and yellow color of this herb, it is commonly nicknamed the “Golden Spice.”

Saffron has been used for centuries as medicine to treat a variety of conditions including:

  • Depression
  • Alzheimer’s disease
  • Menstrual cramps
  • Premenstrual syndrome
  • Premature ejaculation
  • Infertility
  • Alopecia

However, while research has found it may be possibly effective for aiding in the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease, depression, menstrual discomfort and premenstrual syndrome, there is very little scientific evidence to support its ability to effectively treat other conditions, including being overweight or obesity.

In regard to weight management, some research suggests that antioxidant-rich saffron can be potentially useful in preventing, controlling and/or managing overweight and obesity by helping to lower the risk of over-snacking.

However, this same research notes that because studies are lacking that evaluate the efficacy of saffron as an anti-obesity medication that clearly demonstrates the potential mechanism of action, more research is needed.

In other words, there is no proof or guarantee that taking NusaPure Saffron will provide appetite suppression or weight management support.
